Daryl has been dj’ing and emceeing for over 15 years and he started DJ Funn in 2012. Daryl has had the privilege of working over 400 events over those ten years; weddings to proms and everything in between. He has a love for all types of music and he truly cares about each event he’s a part of. During the day, Daryl is a Dean of Students in Washoe County School District.
Joe (owner)
Joe has been working in the wedding industry for over 15 years, and he truly loves what he does; help people party! Joe has dj’ed over 250 events since joining the DJ Funn team in 2017. Joe is a teacher and a veteran; so he really enjoys taking care of the community that takes care of him. He encourages you to check out the discounts we offer to our valuable community members.
Hana
Meet Hana, a Texas transplant who followed her heart to Reno in 2023 to hang out with her grandma and ended up falling head over heels for the stunning Great Basin. Her Texas years were a whirlwind of service industry quests, from managing bustling restaurants to pulling off epic private events. But once she landed in Nevada, she switched gears, becoming a licensed CNA and diving into civil engagement during the 82nd legislative session.
Hana's vibe? Always ready to jump in and help, no matter what. She's got a knack for anticipating people's needs and never shies away from lending a hand. And when it comes to music, she's all about those '80s and '90s jams, while living on a prayer to play to the mood all night.
Now, as she settles into life in Nevada, Hana's on a mission to find her groove and make a difference in her community. With her passion for service, love for music, and laid-back charm, she's carving out her spot in the Silver State one smile and one tune at a time.
Chris
Meet Chris Payne, a current on-air personality with Rock 104 Dot 5, Reno’s Rock Station. He’s the emcee for the Reno Aces, Reno Ice Raiders, Nevada Football, and Nevada Men’s Basketball. He has several years under his belt DJ’ing at bars, weddings, and private parties. He opened up for Jonathan Davis of Korn in 2010. Chris isn’t afraid to play the hits and will always go the distance to help make your party complete.
Demi
Demi joined the DJ Funn team in 2020 and has been killing it ever since. Demi is a full-time educator like Daryl and Joe. She has years of experience emceeing and hosting events from college and high school student government. Demi has her pulse on the modern music scene, so you’ll be hard pressed to stump her musically. In college, Demi studied abroad in Prague and she’s also taught school for a brief time in Kenya. We are so stoked she is part of DJ Funn. She is the definition of a people person and she’ll help you throw a great party while being attentive to all of your wants and needs.
Jim
Jim has been friends with DJ Funn for 20+ years. He is the epitome of a people person. Jim has years of experience with live sound and customer service. He will do everything in his power to make your DJ Funn event one to remember. Jim loves music and making people happy so he’ll make sure your night is unforgettable. After his first night on the DJ Funn team at Justin Bieber Night (DJ Funn’s Version), we knew he was a perfect fit. When he’s not crushing it with DJ Funn, Jim is a mobile heavy equipment mechanic at Sierra Army Depot.
Brigette
Brigette joined the DJ Funn team in 2021, but has been a friend of DJ Funn for many many years. From her very first gig, we knew she was an awesome fit for the team. Brigette has a love for all types of music, but really gets down to funk and reggaeton. Brigette is a natural people person, serving our community as a medical social worker during the day. Brigette will be with you every step of the way as you plan your big day and make sure your party, special event, or wedding is one to remember.
Jocelyn
Jocelyn has been working in the service industry for 4+ years. When she’s not helping you celebrate your special day, you can find Jocelyn in one of Reno’s best restaurants serving tables or making people look beautiful at the salon. Taking the utmost care of clients and guests comes second nature to her. She loves making sure your special day is one to remember. She is an old soul when it comes to music but always keeps up with modern tunes as well. As a recent client expressed, “Her music mastery turned our celebration into an unforgettable experience. Jocelyn’s diverse playlist kept everyone dancing.” We are super proud to have her on the team… keeping it in the family as the daughter of Daryl.
B
We love B! You’ll love B! He has over 10 years of experience in customer service and has many years on top of that working for one of Northern Nevada’s premier catering companies. Like many members of the DJ Funn family, B is an educator and a student as well. He has a love for music that is matched by his love for bringing joy to your event. HIs care for your wedding or event can best be summed up in the words of a wedding coordinator B worked with, ‘The bride and groom had the perfect day! And you (B) helped it run so seamlessly! Incredibly professional and so fun to work with!’
